I signed up for eggs to go with my Ambrose Farm CSA share, and got my first dozen last week. These eggs are AMAZING!!! They are like the Rolls Royce of eggs, the store eggs taste watery and thin in comparison. Best eggs I have ever eaten, hands down!!! I will never eat factory farmed eggs again if I can help it -- hooray for Chucktown happy-chicken eggs! Better for us, better for the chickens, better for the environment.

Just as a testimonial, my husband wasn't sold on buying the farm raised chicken due to the vast difference in price between yours and conventional. We were buying beef and pork that way and he didn't think there was much of a quality difference in chicken as there was in beef and pork. I convinced him to try it and we could go back to conventional if he really thought there wasn't a difference. Suffice to say he is now SOLD! We use Thomas Keller's (of the french laundry) roasted chicken recipe and eat at least a bird a week and they are always spectacular.

I've bought Chucktown Chicken parts and also whole chickens, and they are awsome. Lean, healthy and so tasty! When boiled, the bones of grass-fed chickens make a thick, rich stock that you just can't get from factory-farmed, antibiotic-fed chickens (and would you want to? That stuff leaches out into the broth.) If you're put off by the difference in price, remember that with the Chucktown Chickens you can feel good about using the whole tasty chicken -- bones, meat, fat, everything. Nothing goes to waste and everything tastes so much better.
